FBiH Government: Urgently convene the Assembly of RMU Banovići, EP BiH to assess the situation in Zenica and Breza

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry informed the FBiH Government about the failure of the Supervisory Board of the Brown Coal Mine Banovići d.d. Banovići to act upon the request of the FBiH Government, as the authorized shareholder, for the urgent convening of an extraordinary Assembly of this company.

Today, the Prime Minister of FBiH was authorized to, on behalf of the FBiH Government, as the authorized shareholder, convene the Assembly of RMU Banovići for October 17, 2019, at the company's headquarters in Banovići, starting at 12:00 PM, with the same agenda as in the Government's request of September 12, 2019.

The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry is tasked with preparing all necessary acts to implement this conclusion.

In accordance with the Law on Companies, the secretary of RMU Banovići d.d. is tasked with taking all actions necessary for holding the Assembly as requested by the Government. Otherwise, the Government will take measures against the secretary of the Company to determine personal responsibility for any potential damage that may occur.

The Government tasked the Prime Minister of FBiH to, on its behalf, undertake all activities to determine the responsibility of the representatives of state capital in the Supervisory Board of RMU Banovići d.d. Banovići - Chairman Emin Haračić and member Rasim Kovačević, if they do not act upon the Government's request of September 12, 2019, for the urgent convening of an extraordinary session of the Assembly.

The Government stated that, if they do not act upon the request for the urgent convening of the extraordinary Assembly for September 30, 2019, Haračić and Kovačević assume personal responsibility for any potential harmful consequences that may occur in that company, from the moment the current term of the Supervisory Board expires, i.e., September 30, 2019, until the day when members of that management body in the new term are elected at the Company's Assembly.

At today's session, the conclusion from the previous session was also specified, and Elektroprivreda BiH was given a 60-day deadline to, in the dependent companies RMU Zenica d.o.o. Zenica and RMU Breza d.o.o. Breza, prepare a mine rehabilitation plan which will, among other things, propose the closure of facilities that are not profitable and economically sustainable.
