FBiH Government Donates 80,000 KM for Parents' House Construction in Jezero

Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić, Minister of Labour and Social Policy of FBiH Vjekoslav Čamber, and representative of the Club of Women Parliamentarians of FBiH Jasmina Zubić visited the construction site of the Parents' House for accommodating children suffering from cancer and their parents at the Pediatric Clinic in Jezero today. The Government allocated 80,000 KM for its construction, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Prime Minister Nikšić stated that everything must be done to put children's fight in an equal position with their illness, and that the Government will strive to ensure their support does not end with this donation.

Minister Čamber said that this project will have the appropriate support from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Government of FBiH in the future.

General Director of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo Damir Aganović emphasized that the institution has made land available for the construction of the Parents' House at the Jezero Clinic site.

- The donation from the Government of FBiH will greatly assist in the faster construction of the facility, which will have a basement, ground floor, and three upper floors, and will include 10 apartments, playrooms, lecture rooms, and accompanying facilities. Its existence in close proximity to the Hemato-Oncology Department will be of invaluable importance for children and parents - said Aganović.
 
Head of the Hemato-Oncology Department of the Pediatric Clinic Edo Hasanbegović specified that they receive 50 to 60 new cases annually from the Federation of BiH and the eastern part of Republika Srpska, and that the cure success rate is at the European level of 80 percent, compared to the pre-war period when it was below 10 percent.

Representative of the Association "Heart for Children Suffering from Cancer in FBiH" Lejla Kamerić thanked for the donation and invited all good people to help build the Parents' House, for which approximately 700,000 KM more is needed for completion.
