(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH today made two decisions on adopting spending programs by which international airports in Sarajevo, Mostar, and Tuzla are allocated a total of 3.6 million KM for the improvement of air traffic.
One decision relates to the adoption of a spending program in the amount of one million KM from the Capital transfer "Capital transfers to public enterprises – for the improvement of air traffic" to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, which is allocated to the Public Enterprise Sarajevo International Airport Ltd. The funds are intended for the procurement of an explosive detection system for hand luggage, upgraded with an option for automatic weapon detection.
The second decision on adopting spending relates to a total amount of 2.6 million KM of Current transfer "Subsidies to public enterprises – for the improvement of air traffic" to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, by which 1.3 million KM each is allocated to the public enterprises Mostar Airport Ltd. and Tuzla International Airport Ltd.
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications is tasked with continuous supervision of the spending of allocated funds, as well as signing contracts with public enterprises that will regulate the method of fund transfer, the public procurement process, and reporting on spent funds.
The public enterprises Sarajevo International Airport Ltd., Mostar Airport Ltd., and Tuzla International Airport Ltd. are obliged to report quarterly to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications on the spending of these funds, and after the funds are spent, no later than February 28, 2024, they are obliged to prepare a total report on the spent transfer funds and submit them to the Ministry along with the supervisory board decisions on adopting the reports.
The decisions on the spending program for these funds come into effect the day after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH.
