Police exercise from all over BiH: Dogs and their handlers demonstrated skills in detecting drugs and firearms

(Patria) - At the Square of Sarajevo Children, organized by the OSCE Mission to BiH and the Police Administration of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton, a demonstration of K9 unit skills from Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today.

Citizens had the opportunity to see teams from 10 police agencies in BiH, where handlers and dogs demonstrated skills in detecting hidden narcotics, detecting hidden firearms/explosives, and obedience exercises.



The event brought together participants from the Border Police of BiH, Brčko District Police, MUP of RS, and the police administrations of MUPs of USK, TK, ZDK, SBK, HNK, BPK, and the hosts from the Police Administration of MUP of KS.

The main instructor was Jesus Navarro from the Guardia Civil agency from Spain, along with local instructors Elvir Velić, Željko Čeliković, and Nurija Agić.



This activity is part of the OSCE Mission to BiH's efforts to assist police agencies in addressing public and physical security challenges posed by the illegal possession, misuse, and trafficking of small arms, light weapons, and their ammunition.

The project received financial support from Austria, the Czech Republic, the European Union, Germany, France, Liechtenstein, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, and the United States of America.
