Believers Mark the Night of Laylat al-Badr: It Was the Most Significant Muslim Victory in History

Muslims around the world marked the 17th night of the month of Ramadan, also known as the Night of the Battle of Badr or Laylat al-Badr, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

In the second year after the migration of Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Medina, corresponding to 624 AD, the Battle of Badr took place, which is one of the most important victories of Muslims in history. The Muslims defeated an enemy that was several times more numerous and militarily better equipped.

After this victory, Muslims gained full recognition as a community in the world.

The cause of the Battle of Badr was the interception of the Quraysh caravan by the Companions, the friends of the Prophet Muhammad, which was returning to Mecca from the direction of Damascus.

Muslims say that the Battle of Badr symbolizes the battle between faith and disbelief, truth and falsehood, quality and quantity, and real strength versus fictitious power. It showed that with firm faith in the Noble Allah, the Granter of victory, unexpected results can be achieved and a far stronger, better equipped, and more numerous enemy can be defeated.

In almost all cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday evening, programs were organized that reminded of this important event in the history of Muslims, reports NAP.
