Believers performed the first tarawih prayer in mosques across Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - Numerous Muslims gathered tonight in mosques across Bosnia and Herzegovina to perform the first tarawih prayer of this Ramadan.

With sunset tonight, Ramadan began, the month of fasting, abstinence and generosity, during which Muslims fast from dawn until sunset.

The first day of the Muslim fast is tomorrow, and according to the Islamic Community in BiH calendar, the Eid prayer will be performed on Friday, March 20.

Ramadan is the most important month for Muslims worldwide, including those who have lived for centuries in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region and preserve Ramadan traditions.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and a strict obligation for every adult, healthy Muslim man and woman.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

According to Islamic teachings, this chosen month contains the Night of Qadr, when the revelation of the Quran began, and the Night of Badr, a historical event that strongly shaped the history of Islam.
