A group of 30 citizens from Vitez will depart for Nezuk on Monday, July 7th, to join the participants of the Peace March Srebrenica 2014 for the sixth consecutive year. They will arrive from several parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Nezuk, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
Before their departure, flowers will be laid and a Fatiha prayer will be recited at the martyrs' cemetery and the "Cisterna" monument in Vitez.
The official Peace March 2014 starts from Nezuk to Potočari. They will cover a distance of about 100 km, the route on which survivors from Srebrenica arrived in Nezuk in July 1995, fleeing from the army and police of Republika Srpska led by Ratko Mladić, which systematically killed the people of Srebrenica. 8,372 people from Srebrenica were killed in the genocide, and around 180 victims will be buried this year. Thousands of participants will pay tribute to all the victims of Srebrenica in this way.
The Bosniak Cultural Community "Preporod" Vitez invites everyone to gather in large numbers to see off those who are going to the Peace March.
- We have an obligation to remember and to speak. An obligation to current and future generations, so that evil is never repeated and never forgotten - state the BZK "Preporod" Vitez, writes Patria.
