Visoko: Day Centre for Children and Adults with Special Needs Begins Operation

After the summer break, the beginning of September marked the start of work with school-aged users at the Day Centre for Children and Adults with Special Needs in Visoko.  

Before Eid al-Adha, gift packages were distributed, and Visoko high school students provided funds for purchasing the packages through an organized bake sale, reports Patria.

In addition to gift distribution, through the interreligious cooperation project of the Women's Association "Mozaik" from Čjana near Visoko, funded by World Vision Zenica, GMRC (General Network Religion for Children) ARIGATOU INTERNATIONAL, joint workshops were organized at the Day Centre for volunteers from primary and secondary schools in the Visoko municipality and users of the Day Centre. The visit was organized accompanied by associates Fra Josip Ikić and Islamic Religious Education Professor Midhat Čakalović, and the president of the association "Mozaik", Ismeta Bašić. 

On the occasion of the Eid holidays, a donation reception in the form of sacrificial meat was organized at the Visoko Day Centre, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 13th and 14th. Through cooperation with the Islamic Community, the Medžlis from Visoko and surrounding mosques, as well as cooperation with the Parents' Association "Our Sun". Visočki Suša d.o.o. and Vimar d.o.o. provided great support in storing and receiving the meat. This initiative collected sufficient quantities of meat for the needs of the kitchen and user meals. 

In addition to these activities, a visit from the Moto Club "Karo" from Visoko was organized, who delighted the users with appropriate gifts and socializing. Children and young people enjoyed spending time with the club members who provided motorcycles for photos. Club members donated some didactic materials necessary for working with the users.

This type of cooperation within and outside the Centre continues, and the local community is increasingly involved in the Centre's work, establishing cooperation through joint projects, which represents an example of positive practice and inclusion in our society.
