High Representative Inzko and his First Deputy Scanlan visit Banja Luka

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - High Representative Valentin Inzko and the first deputy high representative and Brčko Supervisor Michael Scanlan visited Banja Luka today, where they met with the President of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović, the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković, as well as the President of the SDS Vukota Govedarica and the President of the PDP Branislav Borenović.

During the meetings, in which the High Representative took the opportunity to introduce his first deputy, discussions focused on current political developments, the OHR announced. 

High Representative Inzko and First Deputy Scanlan underscored the importance of full implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement as the foundation for political stability and prosperity in BiH, both of its entities, and all of its citizens, adding that respect for the principles established by the Dayton Agreement, including respect for institutions, their competencies and decisions, human rights and fundamental freedoms, the rule of law, and economic development, is of essential importance.

“I understand that views on important issues facing this country differ in different parts of the country. That is to some extent normal. At the same time, I am convinced that it is possible to find compromises based on common interests and reforms that are future-oriented - around which everyone can unite, such as the European path, the economy, or better infrastructure - and that will improve the lives of citizens in Republika Srpska and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the High Representative. 

High Representative Inzko and First Deputy Scanlan also stressed the firm commitment of the OHR to support the efforts of the Republika Srpska authorities to improve institutional stability and economic prosperity in line with the Dayton Agreement.
