High Representative Congratulates Armed Forces Day of BiH

(Patria) - High Representative Christian Schmidt congratulated the Ministry of Defence of BiH and members of the Armed Forces of BiH on the occasion of Armed Forces Day and the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of BiH.

“The Armed Forces of BiH are Forces of unity and an important element of statehood. Therefore, the needs of the Armed Forces and soldiers must be adequately foreseen in the state budget. The contribution that the Armed Forces of BiH make to the well-being of BiH citizens in times of trial, as well as to the reputation of BiH abroad through participation in numerous peacekeeping missions where excellent results have been achieved, testifies to a legacy that members of the Armed Forces of BiH can be proud of and which they can continue to nurture and build upon in the years to come,” said the High Representative.

The establishment of the Armed Forces 16 years ago was the culmination of a multifaceted reform process that required much dialogue and compromise. The result of these efforts was the creation of one of the key state institutions and the implementation of the most challenging and successful reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“To the Armed Forces of BiH, the Forces of all people, I wish continuous development and every success in their activities carried out for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” concluded the High Representative.
