Residents of Visoko Argue Over Sledding Track: Paljike Are a Kitten Compared to Meho Patak Street

A real quarrel broke out in Visoko over which skiing and sledding track is the longest and most challenging in the Pyramid City, writes the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

After the local portal Vipromo published a report about how in the 1980s, and even earlier, while the steep city streets still served as tracks for children's winter sports, the neighborhoods of Borići and Paljica had the longest and most challenging tracks in the entire city, residents from the former Meho Patak Street, today Muftije Numanagića Street, located at the opposite end of the city, sent a denial to the portal's editorial office, in which they claim that Paljike and Borići were „a kitten“ compared to their street, which is much longer and more challenging for sledding, and where, due to the difficulty of the track, a large number of accidents occurred.

- It is simply unbelievable that someone could call the sledding and skiing tracks on Paljica and Borići the best or most challenging. I responsibly claim that the former Meho Patak Street was known for the longest track for sledding, sliding, and čampariza – states this interesting denial.

Until the '90s, steep city streets in BH neighborhoods served for many children's winter sports, primarily sledding. With the appearance of more cars and regular cleaning of city streets, this „sport“ has almost completely died out. However, for some, those years are still so etched in memory that they are ready to defend the truth even with public denials, reports NAP.
