Višković gloats: Had the Prosecutor's Office acted according to the law, everything would have been over on the first day

(Patria) – Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković said today that the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to lift the detention measures for the President of RS confirmed what, as he claims, officials of this entity have been warning about for two years.

„We have legislative institutions, laws are passed by the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the Parliament of the Federation of BiH. According to those laws, you can sanction and pass judgments,“ said Višković during a visit to Bratunac.

Višković emphasized that every court in Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of level, must act according to the laws passed by legitimate institutions, and thanked the representatives of the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH for, as he stated, „finding the strength“ to admit that they „cannot act based on the decisions of High Representative Christian Schmidt“.

„This was the only logical decision. We have been pointing this out for two years, but sometimes justice must wait. Had the Prosecutor's Office refused to conduct a process not based on the laws of BiH, all of this could have ended on the first day,“ added Višković.

Commenting on the reactions of political actors from the Federation of BiH and RS to this decision, Višković stated:

„Because of such reactions, they are indeed 'triplets'. If they were worth anything, they might be 'septuplets' or 'decuplets'.“
