Over two million Britons sign petition to halt Brexit

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - More than two million people have signed a petition calling on the British government to abandon the activation of Article 50 on leaving the European Union, it was announced today.

Due to the high response, the official petition website “crashed” on Thursday, the Petitions Committee of the British Parliament announced.

The petition is being signed on the official website of the British Parliament.

Numerous celebrities and parliamentarians have called for signing the petition. Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon wrote: "big and important issues like Brexit should not be reduced to petitions, however, if you are frustrated because Prime Minister Theresa May simply does not listen, sign the petition".
