The investigation into the disappearance of more than 4.5 million KM of NLB Group Ljubljana funds, intended to finance the construction of two residential and commercial buildings "Marijin Dvor" in Sarajevo, is nearing its end.
One of these buildings was planned to house the headquarters of NLB Group in Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the BH news agency Patria.
The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina suspects Daver Halilbegović and Armin Mulahusić, along with their wives Edina and Elma, and the companies they own, Profit-Invest d.o.o. Sarajevo and KS Invest doo Sarajevo, of unlawfully appropriating more than 4.5 million KM to the detriment of NLB Group.
NLB Group Ljubljana started the project of constructing the "Marijin Dvor" residential and commercial center in Sarajevo in 2007.
The plan was for Daver Halilbegović and Armin Mulahusić's joint company, Profit-invest, to purchase more than 16,000 square meters of land in Sarajevo with NLB Group's money, on which two residential and commercial buildings would later be constructed.
The value of the land is slightly over 31 million KM. At that time, the land was owned by the company Unioninvest izgradnja objekata Sarajevo. The head of Unioninvest izgradnja objekata Sarajevo was Ibrahim Jusufranić, recently arrested for a multi-million KM affair at the GRAS public transport company.
At the time of negotiations between representatives of Profit-invest and NLB Group, Daver Halilbegović was the director of Profit-invest, while Armin Mulahusić headed Eurohaus Invest, a company also owned by the controversial businessman Zijad Blekić.
After the construction of the "Marijin Dvor" business buildings, Profit-invest was supposed to sell one building, while the other building would serve as the headquarters of NLB Group.
However, the BiH Prosecutor's Office discovered that more than 4.5 million KM intended for financing this project ended up in the private accounts of Halilbegović and Mulahusić, in the accounts of their wives, as well as in the account of the company Profit-Invest opened at UniCredit bank, over which NLB could not have control.
Part of the money also went towards repaying loans of the company KS Investment Sarajevo, owned by the wives of Halilbegović and Mulahusić. The director of this company is Daver Halilbegović.
Investigators discovered that more than 93,000 KM of NLB Group's money was illegally spent on repaying loans of Armin Mulahusić's brother.
The Agency for Investigations and Protection of BiH (SIPA) and the Office for Prevention of Money Laundering of the Republic of Slovenia are also involved in the entire case.
