More than 200 new cases in BiH, five people died

(Patria) - In the past 24 hours, 212 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Five people died in the same period.

In the past 24 hours (until 12:00 PM), according to data from the Federal Institute of Public Health, the results of testing 960 samples in the Federation of BiH were reported, of which 166 were positive for COVID-19. New cases were registered in all cantons in the Federation of BiH, except for Bosansko-Podrinjski.

A total of 145,308 samples have been tested in the Federation of BiH so far, and COVID-19 has been confirmed in 16,388 people. As of today, 11,969 patients have recovered in the Federation of BiH, and the recovery of 358 patients has been registered in the past 24 hours. Currently, there are 3,969 active cases/positive for COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, three deaths were reported to the Federal Institute of Public Health. The deceased were men from Jajce and Sarajevo, as well as a woman from Tuzla. As of today, the total number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 451, of which 297 are men and 154 are women.

Since the last report on the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Srpska, in the last 24 hours, 632 laboratory samples have been tested, and the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been confirmed in 45 people in this BiH entity.

These are 32 male and 13 female individuals, of whom 18 are younger, 20 are middle-aged, and seven are older. By place of residence, 21 people are from Banja Luka, four from Prnjavor, three each from Bijeljina, Prijedor, Trebinje, and Foča, two each from Kozarska Dubica and Srbac, and one each from Višegrad, Kneževo, Pale, and Čajniče.

In the last 24 hours, the Institute of Public Health of RS reported two deaths in which the presence of the new coronavirus was confirmed. These are a middle-aged and an older male and female from Banja Luka and Gacko, according to the statement from the Institute of Public Health of RS.

So far, 8,736 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in RS, and a total of 292 people have died in whom the test was confirmed. A total of 5,634 people have recovered from the new coronavirus so far, and a total of 74,808 people have been tested. The total number of hospitalized is 182, 57 at the University Clinical Center of RS, and 125 in general hospitals.

In RS, 3,405 people are currently under health surveillance, and surveillance has been completed for 55,874 people.

One new case of infection has been registered in Brčko District.
