Vilić on New Year's Eve: We are ready to respond to this security challenge

Mirsad Vilić, director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, confirmed that after last night's events in Ankara and Berlin, security has been increased at the embassies of Russia, Turkey, and Germany in Sarajevo, reports Patria agency.

- Information is being exchanged and we are monitoring everything. We will act accordingly. The operational group for combating terrorism is in constant communication and we can adequately respond to all challenges.

Vilić stated that so far there is no information that the security situation in BiH has been seriously compromised.

- Given that New Year's Eve is expected in front of the BiH Parliament, which is under the jurisdiction of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, we have already had meetings with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton. We are working diligently to be ready for everything and to respond adequately to this security challenge. 80,000 to 100,000 people are expected at this gathering - Vilić said.
