Vilić and Panso: The burning issue of foreign fighters going to crisis hotspots

Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH Mirsad Vilić is participating in the Conference of Police Chiefs from the Balkan region "Foro di Roma" organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Italy (presiding over the Council of Europe), reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The topic of the conference is strengthening cooperation in the Balkans in the fight against organized crime and illegal migration, with a special emphasis on the link and partnership between the European Union and Balkan countries.

During the Conference, Director Vilić and the Director of the Italian Police, Alessandro Pansa, held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed regional and global security issues, particularly concerning foreign fighters going to crisis hotspots around the world, as well as illegal migration.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of the IPA 2013 project "Fight against Organized Crime: International Cooperation in Criminal Justice," led by Italy for the Western Balkan countries. Working meetings and visits were also agreed upon, which will take place in the coming period in order to concretize the proposed activities.
