Viktor Ivančić: Transcripts on the Partition of Bosnia Reveal Tuđman Was Working Behind His Own Back

Croatian journalist Viktor Ivančić said that truth is currently not highly valued in Croatia, and this happens because the truth mostly harms it.

Ivančić reminded that the Croatian Parliament earlier adopted the Declaration on the Homeland War, which states that Croatia did not wage aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina, although, added Ivančić, both those who proposed and those who adopted such a declaration know that this is not true.

- When I tried to fit into that genre (the Declaration on the Homeland War) 15 years ago, it sounded like this: Croatia proudly and legitimately defended itself from the aggressive moves of Bosniaks, which they undertook on the territory of their own state – said Ivančić in Mostar, reports the Patria agency.

In Mostar on Saturday, the book “Transcripts on the Partition of Bosnia” was promoted, published by the Center for Critical Thinking and the portal Tačno.net. The promotion featured former Croatian President Stjepan Mesić, theologian Fra Drago Bojić, journalist Senad Pećanin, and journalist Viktor Ivančić.

The transcripts mainly refer to conversations between former Croatian President Franjo Tuđman and then-Serbian President Slobodan Milošević, as well as conversations between Tuđman and some of the then-representatives of Bosnian Croats.

- In these authentic records from important sessions of the Croatian political leadership in the 1990s, there are dozens of explicit pieces of evidence that Franjo Tuđman not only divided Bosnia but was obsessed with the idea that this state should not exist at all – wrote, among others, Heni Erceg in this book.

The stance that Croatia did not commit aggression against BiH, says Ivančić, was mainly defended by the fact that no political body ever made a single official decision that would mark the beginning of that aggression.

- And, indeed, it did not – said Ivančić.

- But, it did issue a decree that there was no aggression. Any amateur criminologist would say that this is the behavior of a petty thief who is obviously lying.

Franjo Tuđman never made a public, concrete decision to launch aggression against BiH, but when we read these transcripts, which are transcripts from closed meetings of the state leadership, the only conclusion is that Tuđman was working behind his own back – concluded Ivančić.
