SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The BiH Coordination Body for Protection and Rescue and the BiH Ministry of Security are demanding that the Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority, Mr. Miro Džakula, take immediate measures to have his office in Sarajevo unblock funds and equipment from the International Organization IOM, which would be used to urgently establish a quarantine settlement for 1,000 illegal migrants.
This would also move the remaining migrants off the streets of Sarajevo.
The BiH Service for Foreigners' Affairs informed the BiH Ministry of Security that duty customs officers in Sarajevo informed them that the goods awaiting customs clearance would only be processed on the first working day, Monday.
The BiH Minister of Security, Fahrudin Radončić, as the president of the Coordination Body, is asking all state employees to forget about weekends, days off, and a weekend attitude towards work, as these are minutes that are crucial for public health.
Minister Radončić even called personally and is waiting to be connected with the responsible customs chief, the BiH Ministry of Security announced.
The BiH Ministry of Security will use the public as its greatest ally to end the situation where the head of the Ministry and the BiH Coordination Body has to call personally to get individual institutions to have a responsible attitude towards the pandemic.
Because of this, the Coordination Body will demand that the director of the ITA, Miro Džakula, investigate the situation and order the customs to function fully on weekends as well, as situations where all customs officers must work on weekends will become increasingly frequent.
