VIK: 10 wells activated, fault details determined, repairs underway

Given that a short-term shutdown and failure of the 10kW transformer in Blažuj in the early morning hours caused a disruption in water production and distribution from Bačevo, teams from KJKP ViK doo and Elektrodistribucija Sarajevo are continuously working to repair the fault on the high-voltage cable between two wells. This cable supplies electricity to the wells that feed the Mojmilo reservoir.

- Currently, 10 wells are operational, while one well has been disconnected from the power supply (for which it was not possible to provide an alternative power source) until Elektrodistribucija teams repair the cable laid underground that powers this single well.

It is important to emphasize that the details of the fault have been determined and work is underway to fix them.

The filling of the pressure pipeline is in progress to normalize the water supply as soon as possible.

We reiterate that the facilities are very old, and in the coming period, significant investments are needed in the reconstruction of networks and facilities to minimize such and similar occurrences - say officials from VIK.
