Councilors on behalf of citizens demand an immediate end to water restrictions in the strict center of Sarajevo

Councilors in the Centar Municipal Council Dževad Vrabac, Mustafa Mulić, and Haris Fazlagić sent an initiative to the municipal mayor Dževad Bećirević and competent municipal services, on behalf of the citizens of the local communities Breka, Podrhrastovi-Mrkovići, and Marindvor, demanding an urgent letter to the competent cantonal ministry and KJKP „Vodovod i kanalizacija“ to stop water restrictions, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Namely, citizens of these local communities in the very center of the city have been without water for years, from midnight to six in the morning. They believe that KJKP has absolutely no relevant justification for such actions.

The claim that this is done in order to save electricity, and in a way that fills the pipes with air, is not substantiated, other than that it increases the water consumption bills for citizens, so it often happens that the water bills are higher than the electricity bills.

- If this practice of KJKP „Vodovod i kanalizacija“ does not stop in the coming period, we inform you that the citizens in these settlements will launch a petition for civil disobedience, ceasing to pay bills and filing criminal charges against the responsible persons involved in these harmful activities. We demand from the competent services that this initiative be urgently forwarded to the authorities and we expect an immediate response. Citizens elected us, and we are at the service of the citizens, reads the initiative launched on behalf of the three local communities by councilors Vrabac, Mulić, and Fazlagić.
