SDA Councillors Prevented Heating Price Increase in Zenica

(Patria) - At the last session of the Zenica City Council, thanks to the decisive stance of SDA councillors, the proposal of the management of JP Grijanje d.o.o. Zenica to increase heating prices for the 2025/2026 season was rejected.

"This attempt to shift the financial burden of years of poor management of the company onto the citizens of Zenica – did not pass," announced the Zenica SDA.

They emphasize that they were clear from the very beginning: citizens cannot and must not pay the price for the incompetence of the current city authorities and their cadres.

"Despite attempts to create justification for the price increase through media manipulation and dramatic projections, the truth is simple – JP Grijanje is in trouble because it has been managed non-transparently for years, without vision and responsibility towards service users.

Although Mayor Fuad Kasumović pompously announced in 2022 that 'there will be no increase in heating prices for the next seven years,' today the true nature of his actions is revealed – empty promises for cheap political points, the consequences of which he is now trying to shift onto the citizens.

For Fuad Kasumović, the only measure of success is – how many people he managed to deceive. However, this time, thanks to the principled stance of SDA councillors, the heating price increase has been prevented, and citizens are, at least for now, protected from another blow to their household budgets.

It is clear that Kasumović can no longer act alone – so he increasingly seeks political protection from his partners in the SDP, who, through silence or open support, participate in his settling of scores with dissidents.

And while citizens struggle with inflation, SDP members are participating in directing plays whose sole purpose is the political survival of a mayor who is on trial for serious corruption. Zenica does not need silent accomplices, but responsible representatives of the citizens.

The SDA will continue to insist on a comprehensive audit of the operations of public companies, the dismissal of incompetent staff, and accountability for years of failures," the party announced.
