Councilors rejected the proposal to appoint Haris Fazlagić as Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo

At today's session of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo, the proposal of the Independent List for My City Club to include the election of a Deputy Mayor from among Bosniaks or Others on the agenda was not accepted, writes the Patria News Agency.

This proposal was rejected with nine votes "for", 13 "abstentions", and four "against".

Club President Vedran Dodik submitted the candidate's name for the position of Deputy Mayor to the protocol within the legal procedure. The candidate is Haris Fazlagić, a councilor of the Centar Municipal Council and a member of the Democratic Front.

The position of Deputy Mayor has been vacant for more than half a year, since Aljoša Čampara left this function.

Dodik announced that his Club will again propose the election of a Deputy Mayor from among Bosniaks or Others as an agenda item for the next City Council session, because, as he says, it is unacceptable for the capital city, with a Croat Mayor and a Serb Deputy Mayor, to not have a Bosniak Deputy Mayor or one from the Others in the administration.

Councilors today also rejected the proposed budget rebalance in the amount of less than 7 million KM, proposed by Mayor Ivo Komšić.
