Council of Ministers adopts reform laws on border control and personal data protection

(Patria) - Two key reform laws, which were a condition of the European Union, were adopted at today's session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These are the Draft Law on Border Control of BiH, proposed by the Ministry of Security of BiH, and the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection, proposed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.

That these two laws were adopted was confirmed on the social network “X” by Borjana Krišto, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

“The Council of Ministers has just adopted two key laws on the path to European integration – the Law on Border Control and the Law on Personal Data Protection. This is an important step towards strengthening security and compliance with EU standards,” stated Krišto.

It is important to note that these laws were adopted at the last minute after several blockades by ministers from Republika Srpska in the Council of Ministers of BiH. There was no quorum because they did not attend sessions, and the last time the reason was the arrival of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Sarajevo.
