Council of Ministers sends Agreement on Recognition of Professional Qualifications to BiH Presidency

(Patria) - The BiH Council of Ministers unanimously determined and will send to the BiH Presidency the Draft Basis for the Conclusion of the Agreement on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications of Nurses, Veterinarians, Pharmacists, and Midwives in the context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement, and the text of this agreement, proposed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The proposed signatory for BiH to the Agreement is the Chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, and its signing is planned for the Berlin Process Summit in Tirana on October 16, 2023.

This is an agreement that facilitates the mobility of professionals within the region by automatically recognizing professional qualifications for nurses, veterinarians, pharmacists, and midwives, thereby strengthening regional cooperation and boosting the economic development of the Western Balkans.

The conclusion of this agreement is another step forward in the realization of Bosnia and Herzegovina's obligations within the common regional market, in line with the enlargement policy and the requirements of the European Union, following the earlier signing of the Agreement on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications of Medical Doctors, Dental Doctors, and Architects.

By supporting the mobility of professionals, Bosnia and Herzegovina gains an opportunity to achieve progress in the fields of healthcare, veterinary medicine, and pharmacy, and previously in architecture, while strengthening competition in these areas.
