Council of Ministers considers suspension of tariffs on goods from the US and new foreign trade agreements

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina will consider today at a session in Sarajevo a Proposal for a decision on the temporary suspension of customs rates on imports of goods originating from the United States of America, as well as information on the tariffs that country has imposed on the rest of the world, including BiH, with proposals for further action.

The proposal to suspend customs rates was supposed to be considered at the previous session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, but there was no consensus on it within part of the Collegium.

These agenda items should be considered at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, as well as a proposal for a decision to amend the decision on conditions for obtaining a permit to transfer funds outside BiH for the purpose of establishing representative offices and business units abroad, and a proposal for a decision on appointing the Commission for the Control of Foreign Trade in Arms and Military Equipment.

Before the ministers, at the proposal of the Ministry of Security of BiH, there should also be a proposal for appointing the Deputy Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), as announced by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

The proposed agenda also includes the Draft Basis for initiating the procedure for conducting negotiations to conclude an agreement between BiH and the Netherlands on international road transport of passengers and goods, with the Draft Agreement.

At the proposal of the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, the ministers will consider the Draft Basis for accession to the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law.

The proposed agenda also includes a proposal for a decision on appointing the representative of BiH to the Joint Commission for Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of Serbia.

Before the ministers, reports on the work of 53 institutions of the Council of Ministers of BiH for the past year should also be considered.
