The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a session dedicated to the current situation resulting from the natural disaster, the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina – May 2014, and re-examined the implementation of the conclusions of the 96th session regarding the floods. The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Coordination Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Protection and Rescue from Natural or Other Disasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina and concluded that this body is not undertaking activities defined by the Law on Protection and Rescue of People and Material Goods from Natural or Other Disasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency.
The Chairman of this body, Mladen Ćavar, briefly told NAP that he is not in a position to comment on this conclusion of the Council of Ministers, as he is on an official trip.
- We can talk about this only on Friday – said Ćavar, just before boarding the plane.
On the other hand, Samir Agić from the Ministry of Security says that he is also not satisfied with how the Coordination Body is working.
- It is obvious that no one is satisfied with how it functions, and so am I personally not. I cannot say anything more. I agree with the decision of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Perhaps Ćavar can explain how this body functions, because its operation is specific – says Agić.
Incidentally, according to the conclusion of the Council of Ministers, the Chairman of the Coordination Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Protection and Rescue from Natural or Other Disasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina is tasked with preparing and immediately submitting a report on the work of this body to the Council of Ministers.
- The Council again requested from the Coordination Body information on the number of victims who died during the floods in May 2014. The Council was informed that so far a total of 32 institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina have submitted information on measures taken during and after the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Institutions that have not submitted their reports are tasked with urgently submitting them to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina – was announced by the Council of Ministers.
Earlier, however, many international organizations and embassies praised the work of the Coordination Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Protection and Rescue.
