Council of Ministers of BiH to meet on May 28: No laws on the agenda

(Patria) - A new session of the Council of Ministers of BiH has been scheduled for May 28, and this time again, there are no laws on the agenda. The published agenda includes a Proposal for a decision on approving funds from the current Budget Reserve of the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024, proposed by the Office of the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Council of Ministers of BiH will consider the Proposal for a decision amending the Decision on the appointment of the Commission for resolving appeals in the security clearance procedure, proposed by the Ministry of Security of BiH.

A Working Group for the drafting of the Rulebook on the implementation of the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Activities should also be appointed.

Given that this item was not considered at the previous session due to the absence of Minister Nenad Nešić, the Proposal for a decision on establishing the Plan for the admission of cadets to police agencies at the level of institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024 should be considered at this session.

Also on the agenda is the Proposal for a decision on the establishment of the State Commission for the Border of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The agenda includes Reports on the work of the institutions of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the minutes from the session held on April 22, Krišto informed the members of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina about further activities related to the European Union accession process, meetings held, and the next necessary steps, emphasizing in particular that the negotiation framework would be submitted in the upcoming period and that activities for appointing chief negotiators needed to commence.

The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina stressed the need for the swift adoption of the Law on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024. Furthermore, the holding of the next session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina was announced, with the Draft Law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina expected on the agenda. However, none of this has happened, and it remains to be seen when it will.
