Council of Ministers of BiH establishes basis for negotiations on Southern Interconnection with Croatia

(Patria) - The 75th extraordinary/telephone session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today in Sarajevo.

The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Proposal of the basis for conducting negotiations for the conclusion of the Agreement between BiH and Croatia on the construction of the gas pipeline "Southern Interconnection of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia" on the route Zagvozd (HR) - Posušje (BiH) - Novi Travnik/Travnik with a branch to Mostar.

The Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH was authorized to sign this agreement.

The Agreement regulates the basis of cooperation and joint construction of the interconnection (each on its own side) on the route Zagvozd (Croatia) - Posušje (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - Tomislavgrad - Šuica - Kupres - Bugojno - Novi Travnik/Travnik and the route Posušje - Grude - Široki Brijeg - Mostar, with branches towards Livno, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, Donji Vakuf and Jajce, and a branch for Čapljina and an additional route Kladanj - Tuzla in BiH and the gas pipeline Split - Zagvozd in Croatia.

The Council of Ministers of BiH established the delegation for negotiations consisting of: the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH or a person authorized by him (head of delegation); the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH or a person authorized by him (member of delegation); the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH or a person authorized by him (member of delegation); the Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of BiH or a person authorized by him (member of delegation); the Minister of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of BiH or a person authorized by him (member of delegation); the Minister of Finance of the Federation of BiH or a person authorized by him (member of delegation) and the Minister of Justice of the Federation of BiH or a person authorized by him (member of delegation).

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina is tasked with submitting the Proposal of the basis to the Presidency of BiH for further procedure prescribed by law, along with a proposal that the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH be designated as the signatory of the agreement.
