Council of Ministers of BiH Adopts Economic Reform Program until 2026

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH has adopted the Economic Reform Program (ERP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024-2026 in its new text, focusing on fulfilling BiH's obligations on its European path.

This is an ambitious package of structural reforms designed to respond to global trends, accelerate BiH's convergence with EU countries, and address remaining inherited structural challenges.

Structural reforms are aimed at increasing competitiveness through technological modernization of the economy and improving the business environment, increasing the efficiency of public enterprises, establishing conditions for accelerating the green transition, and creating prerequisites for digital transformation.

Simultaneously, a reform in the labor market domain is planned to align education and improve the effects of active employment policies.

Special attention is also paid to key parts of the public sector – the social and healthcare systems, which contribute not only to the economy's competitiveness but also to the overall quality of life and long-term development of human capital in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Economic Reform Program, to which institutions at all levels of government contributed through cooperation with entity coordinators, was prepared by the Directorate for Economic Planning according to the European Commission's guidelines, based on contributions submitted by competent institutions at the state and entity levels according to the Activity Plan Proposal.

At the session, appropriate conclusions were adopted to ensure the monitoring of the implementation of the proposed structural reform measures and the execution of jointly agreed Policy Guidelines, which are the result of the 2024 economic and financial dialogue.

This is the tenth Economic Reform Program, which will be submitted to the European Commission.
