Council of Ministers of BiH adopts Decision on Coordination System

 

The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted at today's session the Decision on the Coordination System of the European Integration Process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced by the Council of Ministers of BiH, reports the news agency Patria.

This decision defines the institutional and operational system and the manner of achieving coordination of institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in implementing activities related to the process of integrating Bosnia and Herzegovina into the European Union, as well as joint bodies within the coordination system, their composition, competencies and mutual relations.

Coordination of the European integration process implies activities carried out with the aim of ensuring the highest possible degree of harmonization and coherence in the work of institutions at all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the fulfillment of contractual obligations from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their member states and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other obligations from the European integration process.

The coordination system also regulates the manner of achieving communication between institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of ensuring and presenting a harmonized position on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina in communication with the institutions of the European Union.

The decision establishes a system of vertical coordination, i.e., coordination between different levels of government organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the implementation of which joint implementing bodies are established that include all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the statement reads.
