Council of Ministers of BiH adopts moratorium on departure tax for passengers from BiH airports

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, adopted a one-year moratorium on the departure tax for passengers, which comes into effect at the beginning of next year.

"In this way, we encourage foreign airlines to increase their presence in BiH and open as many routes as possible from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, and Mostar, all with the aim of increasing the number of passengers," said Minister Forto.

The amendment to the regulation was adopted with the goal of increasing the number of flights and more serious development of air traffic in the country, and it is the result of a series of meetings held over the past few months between representatives of international airports, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, BHDCA, and members of the Transport and Communications Commission of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
