Council of Ministers of BiH seeks international assistance in evacuating BiH citizens from the Middle East

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH, at today's extraordinary telephone session, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Security, adopted a Decision on seeking international assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism for the evacuation of BiH citizens from Middle Eastern countries.

BiH's request pertains to providing support in the repatriation of BiH citizens with valid travel documents from Middle Eastern countries, including the use of available repatriation flight capacities organized by EU member states and member states of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the diplomatic-consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other competent institutions, will provide the Ministry of Security of BiH with the necessary data on BiH citizens located in Middle Eastern countries.

For the realization of activities from this decision, 800,000 KM has been secured by the Decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH on approving funds from the current budget reserve of the budget of BiH institutions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the needs of evacuating BiH citizens from Middle Eastern countries, with the possibility of using financial support from the EU Civil Protection Mechanism in accordance with its rules.
