Council of Ministers of BiH Adopts Work Program for 2024 Only Today

(Patria) - At the proposal of the Chairperson's Office, the Council of Ministers of BiH's Work Program for 2024 was unanimously adopted today, with technical corrections at the session, after the work programs of ministries, administrative organizations, institutions, and bodies of the Council of Ministers were adopted.

The Work Program contains the most significant activities that the Council of Ministers of BiH plans to carry out in 2024, based on proposals from state institutions, which contribute to the achievement of adopted strategic goals and priorities outlined in the Strategic Framework of BiH Institutions until 2030 and the Medium-Term Work Program of the Council of Ministers of BiH from 2024 to 2026.

At the same time, other adopted strategic documents aimed, among other things, at implementing reforms in the areas of public administration, judiciary, fight against corruption, and organized crime were taken into account.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union remains the most significant priority of the Council of Ministers of BiH's work, following the granting of candidate status and the European Council's decision to open negotiations with BiH.

The Council of Ministers of BiH will continue to work on fulfilling the recommendations for BiH arising from the European Commission's documents and obligations from the Stabilization and Association Agreement and the United Nations' Agenda 2030, with the aim of sustainable socio-economic development of BiH.

The Program focuses on achieving the goals and priorities of the Council of Ministers of BiH contained in the Strategic Framework of BiH Institutions until 2030, which was prepared based on the Framework for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in BiH.

It defines a common vision of all levels of government for a prosperous, economically and institutionally developed BiH, a socially just state of equal opportunities for all its citizens, with developed infrastructure, a knowledge-based society, where natural and other resources are used effectively, the environment is protected, and the richness of diversity is nurtured.

The Council of Ministers of BiH remains committed to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and will monitor the policies of the European Union and its member states regarding the obligations of monitoring and reporting on their achievement.

The annual Work Program of the Council of Ministers of BiH, over 450 pages long, includes, among other things, a plan of activities, individual reviews of the adoption of normative-legal acts, and the conclusion of international bilateral agreements, accession to international conventions and other international agreements, along with a review of development, investment, and other projects.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of BiH will submit the Work Program of the Council of Ministers of BiH to the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
