Council of Ministers of BiH to appoint Stanić as head of SIPA tomorrow

The proposal for the appointment of the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) will also be on the agenda of the Council of Ministers of BiH session tomorrow, submitted by the Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić, writes the BiH news agency Patria. 

Minister Mektić forwarded the name of Perica Stanić to the Council of Ministers, although he was third on the list of five names compiled by the Independent Board of the BiH Parliament.  

Incidentally, Stanić and Mektić are connected by godparent ties, as well as their birthplace, Prnjavor.

Stanić began his police career as an assistant commander of the Police Station in Prnjavor. He was later appointed as a criminal investigator, and then as commander of the Public Security Station Prnjavor. After that, he moved to the position of deputy head of the Public Security Center Banja Luka, then chief inspector in the Police Directorate, and is currently serving as advisor to the Director of the RS Police. 

Stanić was also a member of the Police Board of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, actively participated in the police reform process in BiH, and was the leader of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs team in the police reform negotiations during 2006.
