Council of Ministers of BiH did not adopt a decision to allow Palestinian relatives of BiH citizens to enter BiH

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH tonight did not adopt a decision allowing Palestinian citizens, who are close relatives of BiH citizens, to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina under special conditions.

Seven ministers voted in favor of the proposed decision, while the Serbian ministers in the Council of Ministers of BiH did not vote. This means the decision did not pass, reports Istraga.ba

And what was proposed.

“Relatives are considered to be a spouse, children, including adult children over eighteen years of age, and parents of BiH citizens, if they hold Palestinian citizenship and do not hold BiH citizenship,” stated in the proposal of the decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH, which was proposed by the Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić.

However, Nešić and Staša Košarac did not vote for the adoption of this decision.

Along with the decision, a list of 30 Palestinian citizens who are related to 17 BiH citizens was also submitted. These BiH citizens are also in Egypt, where they have been accommodated after being evacuated from Gaza in recent days.

Based on the decision that the Council of Ministers did not adopt, 30 people were supposed to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The decision was supposed to be made by 6:00 PM, but the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Staša Košarac, requested additional clarification. After further consultation, Košarac, Nešić, and Srđa Amidžić did not vote.

Let us recall, forty days after the start of the war in Gaza, the BiH authorities managed, with the help of Qatar, to evacuate 47 people from Gaza. These are BiH citizens and their relatives. All of them were transferred via the Rafah border crossing to Egypt, where they are currently located. Initially, it was planned that only 17 people with BiH citizenship would be transferred to BiH.
