Council of Ministers of BiH to decide on fugitive Zoran Galić at next session

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted a conclusion at today's session, tasking the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Ministry of Justice of BiH, and the Office for Legislation to prepare a resolution regarding Zoran Galić's status by the next session of the Council of Ministers.

Galić has been on the run since July 8 and has not justified his absence. He first requested sick leave, which he failed to obtain, and then annual leave, which SIPA Director Darko Ćulum did not approve.

His shift list from July 8 is not being filled out, nor is his salary being paid. Through his legal team, he submitted a request for early dismissal due to meeting the conditions for retirement.

However, ministers from the Bosniak constituent people do not want to support such a solution and are demanding that he be dismissed from duty without any benefits.

An Interpol red notice has been issued for Galić, and he is suspected of abuse of office while he was the director of the BiH Border Police.

Galić has been a loyal cadre of the HDZ for years, and he served two terms as the head of the BiH Border Police, and since February 2023, he has been the deputy director of SIPA.
