Council of Ministers of BiH Awaits Independent Board, Which Will Not Convene for Another Month

The Council of Ministers of BiH at today's session took note of the Information from the Ministry of Security on activities undertaken following the order from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the implementation of an investigation against Goran Zubac, Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), writes the Patria News Agency.

However, nothing more concrete was done, as it was concluded that the Council of Ministers of BiH will express its position on this matter after the competent BiH institution, namely the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, determines its stance.

- The Council of Ministers was also informed about the actions of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Security regarding the revocation of access to classified information for the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency. The Council of Ministers of BiH will forward this conclusion to the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH - it was announced from the Council of Ministers.

However, it is now certain that the Independent Board will not convene for the next month due to collective annual leave, as the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee, to which members of the Independent Board sent laws for authentic interpretation because they interpret them differently, will also not convene.

We remind that the main debate is about whether Zubac is a police officer, subject to the Law on Police Officers. Žiko Krunić, the Chairperson of the Independent Board, claims that Zubac is a manager and that this law cannot be applied to Zubac, while Enes Obralija, the Deputy Chairperson of the Independent Board, claims otherwise.

For now, it is certain that Zubac will remain in the position of SIPA Director until the elections, despite the fact that he will very soon be on the defendant's bench, as soon as the BiH Court schedules a hearing for the plea.
