Vidović reacted: Adamović and I are not the problem, but the political ties of certain prosecutors

Respected Sarajevo lawyer Vasvija Vidović reacted to the public statements of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina today. The Patria news agency is transmitting her reaction in full.

- I am genuinely surprised by the HJPC of BiH's reaction to the media appearances of my colleague Adamović and myself regarding the fact that we are appearing as witnesses in the investigation against the judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azra Miletić.

First of all, the fact that my colleague Adamović and I are appearing as witnesses in the case is a result of information that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina disseminated through the media, particularly Federal Television and its show Mreža, insinuating that the entire case is an "attorney-judge conspiracy" against prosecutor Dubravko Čampara, presenting a series of untruths that would link Judge Miletić and myself in alleged criminal activities.

It is completely clear that, as a citizen of this country, I had the right to respond to the accusations originating from the BiH Prosecutor's Office. Otherwise, in the last two years, I have been the subject of the most severe attacks and pressures from individuals within that Prosecutor's Office.

In this regard, I have filed a complaint with the HJPC of BiH against prosecutor Dubravko Čampara and his associates, both for pressuring me and for abusing procedural powers, providing completely clear evidence in that regard. Therefore, let the HJPC of BiH deal with the issues for which it was established. Let it deal with the terrible state of the judiciary and within the HJPC of BiH itself, against whose president, on behalf of client Dževad Haznadar, I filed a serious criminal complaint two years ago.

As for the inappropriate pressure on judicial institutions that my colleague Adamović and I, as lawyers, allegedly exerted – let the HJPC of BiH address the clear political ties of certain prosecutors and the results of their work stemming from those ties, as well as the citizens' dissatisfaction with the work of judicial institutions and the HJPC of BiH itself. Certainly, these institutions have not lost public trust due to my or Adamović's statements.

Let the HJPC of BiH not worry about the postulates of my profession because that is not its job, just as it is not the job of the HJPC of BiH to pressure the Bar Association of FBiH regarding its competencies, the lawyer Vidović's reaction concludes.
