VIDEO: Great-granddaughter of Šantić's Emina sang "Emina"

The latest project of the Institute for Music, Theatre and Multimedia is a music video for the song "Emina" based on the poem by Aleksa Šantić, musically arranged and performed by Alma Ferović-Fazlić, who is the great-granddaughter of the famous Mostar native Emina Sefić-Koluder, who was the inspiration for Šantić to write this timeless song, reports the Patria news agency.

The song was recorded and produced in the music studio of Deneba Pinja from Sarajevo, who is also the producer of several music albums by Turkish star Mustafa Sandal.

The video was shot at locations in Mostar, Počitelj and Hutovo Blato, and was produced by the Komitet Agency.

The arranger, Alma Ferović-Fazlić, is the first master's graduate from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Royal Academy of Music in London, in the Department of Musical Theatre. She has performed with Elton John and two-time Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, and has also performed in over four hundred performances of the London musical The Lord of the Rings.

She is best known to the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the musical documentary Srebrenica from 2006, dedicated to the genocide in Srebrenica, which has had over 300,000 views on YouTube. Every year, on the eve of the anniversary of July 11, the video is broadcast throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in Turkey, Belgium, and the United States, and has even been used in teaching at Kagoshima University in Tokyo for a world history course.
