Only the bravest pilots could land at Sarajevo International Airport in the last days of December, due to the thick fog that had covered the city.
One of the readers of the Bosnian news agency Patria recounted how the pilot of a Lufthansa plane that took off from Munich for Sarajevo on December 22 literally told them that they were flying to Sarajevo on a wing and a prayer, „so whatever will be, will be“.
This plane nevertheless landed without problems, which the passengers greeted with thunderous applause.
Pilots who are not experienced enough landed at Belgrade Airport instead of Sarajevo, writes Patria.
