Several hundred residents of the Kruščica local community in the municipality of Vitez blocked the path of machines that were supposed to start work on the construction of two mini hydroelectric plants on the Kruščica River, and they will do it again, because as they say, what they are doing is worth it.

This is not the first protest by the residents of Kruščica against the construction of mini hydroelectric plants on the pearl of tourism in this area, which every year attracts a large number of tourists due to its untouched nature.

The damage that could be caused by the construction of mini hydroelectric plants is invaluable for the residents because the Kruščica River is a generator of tourism development, and by destroying the entire environment, the opportunity for tourism development will be lost.

The residents warn that the Kruščica area, in addition to being designated as a tourism potential, has for years served as a picnic area for the residents of Vitez, and is characterized by clean and drinkable water.

At the same time, the police are checking information that special forces injured the protesters, mostly women who were removed from the road where they were protesting against the construction of hydroelectric plants.

At the same time, the Coalition for the Protection of Rivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina announces that it will address the European Court of Human Rights. The ombudsmen in Bosnia and Herzegovina have also launched an investigation ex officio.
