VIDEO After the war: 20 years ago, the derby between Željezničar and Sarajevo was played, goals scored by Biščević and Uščuplić

At the Grbavica Stadium on May 2, 1996, the first football match was played after the reintegration of the Grbavica settlement (March 1996), which had been under siege by the aggressor for four full years.

The match was played by city rivals, the home team FK Željezničar and FK Sarajevo. In front of a packed stadium that had suffered significant damage, feelings of joy, pride, and excitement were mixed, so the result itself took a back seat. The match ended with a score of 1:1, and Željo took the lead first with a goal by Bulend Biščević in the 33rd minute. Biščević was not yet 21 at the time, and on one of the anniversaries, he told Patria that the goal was the fulfillment of a childhood dream.

- You survive the entire war, return to your Grbavica, to your stadium in your favorite jersey, and score that goal. It has now become an anthology. In a way, we remember it every year. Many have scored goals, many have achieved even greater sports results, but that goal remains memorable and historic, so that tomorrow my children can remember it with pride. It is something special in my life - Biščević said for NAP.

Already in the second half, in the 57th minute, Sarajevo scored a goal, and the scorer was Dženan Uščuplić.
