VIDEO Muhasilović from Potočari: To survive, we must be strong

(Patria) - Thirty years after the genocide in Srebrenica, it is clear that only those who are strong enough survive in this world, said Prof. Dr. Jahja Muhasilović for Patria.

"Srebrenica confirmed that to us, as did today's tragedy in Gaza. We cannot rely on the international system or on others, we must be prepared to defend ourselves. This is an important lesson for the new generations of Bosniaks, so that such crimes are never repeated.

History teaches us that genocide is not the first such crime and that there are those who are planning to repeat it even today. Although they do not currently have the strength to do so, it is our obligation to be prepared to defend ourselves if the need arises.

Just as the world watched Bosnia and Herzegovina from a distance in the 90s while we organized and defended ourselves, today they are similarly watching the events in Gaza – the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians. Srebrenica was not an isolated crime, but a genocide that encompassed all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We must clearly recognize and reject attempts to localize the genocide and provide a strong response.

We defended Bosnia and Herzegovina in Srebrenica and we continue to defend it today, here and elsewhere," Muhasilović said in Potočari.
