VIDEO: Almira Lizde from Konjic becomes world champion in weightlifting

Almira Lizde from Konjic is the new world champion in weightlifting, reports the Patria agency.

Lizde became the world champion in powerlifting at the World Championship in Trutnov, Czech Republic, in the category up to 82.5 kg. In addition, she set a world record in the deadlift discipline with a lift of 240 kg.

The competition in Trutnov featured representatives from nearly 40 countries around the world, and among them, the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina flew at the top.

Lizde trains at the Neretva Weightlifting Club in Konjic. She previously competed in Olympic weightlifting, but in recent years she has focused exclusively on powerlifting.

Her coach, Almir Karkelja, traveled with the Bosnian competitor to the Czech Republic.
