(Patria) - A man identified as A.K. today attacked a police officer in front of the Republic of Srpska Palace in Banja Luka, approaching him from behind and knocking him to the ground.
The video circulating on social media shows a citizen who was talking to the police officer earlier, being the first to rush to his aid.
After that, his colleagues who work as security at the Republic of Srpska Palace also came to his assistance.
"Today around 12 PM, A.K. physically attacked a police officer from behind in front of the Republic of Srpska Palace, after which he was subdued by other police officers present at the scene and arrested," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska announced.
The duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka was informed about this incident and stated that it constitutes the criminal offense of "Assault on an official in the performance of official duties".
