BJELAŠNICA, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina saw mostly clear skies this morning, with fog in basins and along river courses. The coldest was in Bugojno at minus -9 degrees.

However, on Bjelašnica, despite the sub-zero temperatures that have prevailed in recent days on this Bosnian beauty, a true winter idyll reigns. There is a large number of tourists and winter enthusiasts on the mountain. 

Due to the severe cold, the Rakitnica River has frozen over, so one can literally skate on it. Residents of the surrounding villages told Patria that this morning the keys froze in the locks, but the air is clean and they are enjoying the winter idyll.

„Since it's the holidays, I'm here with my grandchildren and we're enjoying winter activities. We're sledding, skiing, and now we're even skating,“ says Ahmet, who has been staying on this Bosnian Olympic beauty for days.

 

On Friday, January 10, most of Bosnia and Herzegovina will have predominantly sunny weather for most of the day. 

„In the morning, fog is expected in basins in central and eastern areas. In the evening hours, gradual cloud increase. Wind weak from the west and northwest. Lowest morning air temperature mostly between -8 and -2°C, in the south of the country up to 3°C. Highest daily air temperature mainly between 2 and 8°C, in the south of the country up to 12°C,“ announced the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute.

On Saturday, mostly cloudy weather in Bosnia for most of the day. Cloud cover decreasing in the evening hours.

„In Herzegovina, mostly cloudy in the morning, clearing in the afternoon. Wind in Bosnia weak from the northwest. In Herzegovina, a moderately strong bora wind. Lowest morning air temperature mostly between -4 and 1°C, in the south of the country up to 6°C. Highest daily air temperature mainly between 3 and 8°C, in the south of the country from 10 to 14°C,“ the FHMZ points out.
