VIDEO Demonstrators surrounded the theatre, Macron evacuated

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - French security forces evacuated the country's president Emmanuel Macron from the "Les Bouffes du Nord" theatre in Paris due to an attack by anti-government demonstrators.

Demonstrators gathered in front of the theatre, after calls on social networks that Macron was in the theatre.

The gathered people chanted slogans, and then tried to enter the theatre building. The French police then evacuated Macron.

Protests have been ongoing for a month and a half against all French government plans to reform the pension system. 

Demonstrators have been on the streets since December 5, and with the new plan, French authorities advocate that the pension amount be calculated based on the salary amount that the worker had throughout their entire career, and not based on salaries from the last five years of their working career.

Trade unions are against it and claim that this will result in significantly lower pensions for future retirees.
