Large part of Sarajevo will be without water today

(Patria) - Cantonal company Vodovod i kanalizacija (VIK) announced information about the works on connecting a part of the reconstructed pressure pipeline at the new roundabout near GRAS, due to which a large part of Sarajevo will be without water supply.

On Thursday, March 28, starting at 5 AM, works are planned on connecting a part of the reconstructed DN 700 pressure pipeline for the Alipašin most - Kobilja glava pumping direction.

These very complex works will take place at the junction of Srđana Aleksića and Džemala Bijedića streets, at the site of the newly built roundabout (near GRAS).

As part of the planned works, there will be an interruption in the water supply to the following settlements: Koševsko brdo, Bare (Šip), Ciglane, Crni vrh, Gorica, Velešići, Pofalići, Hum brdo, Gornji Velešići, Hotonj, Barica, Dumače, Ugorsko, Dreskovača, Krše, Donja Jošanica, Orahov brijeg, as well as in the streets: Alipašina, Bolnička, Koševo, Patriotske lige, Zahira Panjete, Orlovačka, Drinska, Fra Matije Divkovića, Skopljanska and Ivanjska.

According to estimates, the works will last 15 hours, and the normalization of water supply is expected in the late evening hours.

VIK asks citizens in these areas to secure sufficient amounts of water due to the long interruption of water supply.

The Municipality of Centar announced that water tankers will be available to citizens at the locations of local communities, namely: Crni vrh Gorica, Koševsko Brdo, Donji Velešići, Šip, Ciglane and Koševo 2.

In MZ Crni vrh Gorica at Avde Jabučice street 52 from 11 AM; MZ Koševsko brdo - Braće Begić 11 from 11 AM; MZ Donji Velešići - Hasana Bibera 5 from 11 AM; MZ Šip - Branilaca Šipa 15 from 8 AM; MZ Ciglane - Trg Merhemića 14 from 8 AM and MZ Koševo 2 - Patriotske lige bb from 11 AM.
