Large number of guests at the opening of Arnaudija, Cvijanović, Dodik, Hurtić, Turkish ambassador arrived

(Patria) - The opening of the renovated Arnaudija mosque, which was demolished on May 7, 1993, is underway in Banja Luka. A large number of guests from state and entity levels of government, and a Turkish delegation are attending the ceremony. The Islamic Community in BiH has designated May 7 as Mosque Day.

The mosque will be opened by the Rais al-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović. Among the guests are Presidency member Željka Cvijanović, RS President Milorad Dodik, RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković, Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković, representatives of the FBiH Government, representatives of the BiH Council of Ministers, and the Turkish Ambassador to BiH, Sadik Babur Girkin.

Although a large number of believers were expected, this is not the case today. The main reason for this is the negative atmosphere that has prevailed in recent months and the tensions caused by Milorad Dodik.

Arnaudija was built in the classic Ottoman style, and with its stylistic and typological characteristics, it belongs to the group of single-space mosques with a dome and three smaller domes.

Due to the opening of the Arnaudija mosque, the Banja Luka Police Administration has taken enhanced security measures.

Traffic will be suspended in several streets from seven o'clock, and the ban will last as long as necessary.

The operation of catering facilities located near Arnaudija is also prohibited from seven to 17 o'clock.
